He chose them over us...
The thing about B is he always chose people over his blood. If they accepted him the way he was, allowed him to be a drunk, never called him out on his behavior, THEY were his "Family".
It's quite sad. Had more people not accepted him and the things he did, he might have seen where the problem really lied.
I could share years of heartache over this one but the most recent is by far his biggest betrayal and their part in it.
In the trailer park where he resides, there are 2 - 70 yr old women that B took to. They did everything for him. His laundry, cleaned his trailer, made him food. He'd stop by Betty's trailer on the way out every morning to get a cup of coffee and pick up his sack lunch. He called her Mom. She would text him every morning and night to say, "good night son, I love you" and the same every morning. Val I think was more of a drinking buddy. He called her Auntie. I didn't figure her out until after the accident.
I got into an argument once with him when he said Betty was more of a Mother to him then his blood Mother ever was. That's because Betty didn't go through the hell he put his REAL Mother through. It was a little sickening to me but of course he accused me of being "jealous". LOL
When B was in the hospital after the fire, his kids and I rushed over there but Betty and Val made it there before us. They both told the hospital staff that they were his Mom and Aunt and the only family he had. Unknowing to them, our oldest daughter had already called the hospital and acting as next of kin, told them NO ONE was allowed to see him until we got there.
My kids had to show their IDs to prove they were related to this man, now intubated and fighting for his life. The nurse who told us about the 2 little old ladies claiming to be his only family and had just left, was rude and our son was visibly upset.
Fast forward to when B was moved down to the Fire ICU after being cleared of Covid, C and I agreed to let Betty come see him while we were there. After a couple of visits, we let her and Val go when we weren't there so he had company during the day. Little did we know the rumors that would spread faster than that fire did.
One of them told Brad that they were just 2 doors away from him when a nurse pulled them out and said, "the family has demanded no one see him". This of course made him mad.
Val told him I had gone to his storage unit and tried to hook up his toy hauler and sell it. She "heard it from the storage office". So of course in his presence I called the storage place. He heard the lady say, "that never happened" but then he accused me of trying to start problems.
When we would visit B with the 2 old hags, Val would walk with me arm in arm and tell me that I'd be smart to not let him back into my life right away. To make him prove that he's changed.
Val was in conversation one night with one of their other neighbors in the trailer park and butt dialed me (of all people). I heard the entire thing. They both said I stole Bs money and he was an idiot if he got back together with me. The guy even went as far to say he thinks I didn't like him cause he wouldn't hook up with me. WHAT?
When I told B about it, he just shrugged it off. Never said a thing to them. But it wasn't long before B himself was telling people I stole his gofundme money. This all happened after B was out of rehab. After he disrespected me in my home and went back to the trailer park.
It was Val who helped him with his bandages once he was home. I can only imagine the lies told. The build up to destroy a family so that they could have him all to themselves. Planned?
A pack of Narcassists. They deserve one another.
